Milind Ratnakar had won the fifth position in the WeboGraffiti Photography campaign and he was first in replying to our email in which we interviewed him. This post is a part of the Campaign Winners Series of posts in which we are featuring the winners of the WeboGraffiti Photography Campaign.
I personally know Mr. Ratnakar. He is great as a person, and when it comes to photographs, he's a pro. The photo he sent as an entry to the contest was one of my favorites. All of his photos can be accessed from a facebook page called "Milind Ratnakar's Photography". The genres in which this person shoots are Nature, Landscape photography, Music, Travel, Portrait photography and Concert photography.
A small description about him on the facebook page says,
Apart from being a photographer, he is also a guitarist and he plays in a popular band called "Jazbaat - Sentiments with passion." What follows is a short interview we had of him.
Q1: Tell us a little bit about you?
Myself Milind Ratnakar, pursuing my graduation (B.E) From Bhopal. I live in Vidisha. Apart from studies I work for a band called Jazbaat as a guitarist, and with music, photography is one thing I enjoy the most.
Q2. How long have you been a photographer?
Starting with a mobile phone camera and coming up to SLR it took about an year, I started in 2011.
Q3. What or who inspired you to start photography?
The thing that inspires me most is nature and her beauty, I capture the moments of daily life. Another thing which inspires me is a guy who has really helped me to take photography as a profession Rahul Kumar (raul Clikography). He guided me in every step to make me better and better.
Q4: What type of cameras do you prefer to shoot with?
Cameras I shoot with are Sony DSC HX1 and Nikon D3100.
Q5: What is your most used photoshop tool, plug-in action set, etc.?
Photoshop is really a good helper of a photographer. It enhances the ideas and beauty of a photos. My most used Photoshop tool is curve channel mixer, brightness and contrast.
Q6: What has been your most memorable assignment and why?
Shooting the my first ever concert photography shoot. Indian ocean live at Ravindra Bhavan Bhopal TIMES OF INDIA BHOPAL EDITION CONCERT 27-NOV-2011. This was memorable as this was my first concert shoot and that was the first professional experience I had.
Q7: Which of your photographs do you like the most?
Light painting and birds photography.
Q8: When did you know that you have you finally "made it" as a professional?
After getting lots of appreciation through Facebook and from many of good photographers who really appreciated me and helped to grow me with my photography skills.
Q9: What do you like the most about your professional life?
Clicking photographs is the best thing I like about my professional life.
